Who I am…

Well, I’m not sure where to start with this.  I just feel like it is something that I should do.  Let me start with who I am.

I am a Child of God.  That is first and foremost who I am.  I am a learner, I still have much to learn about this role in my life but it is very important to me.  I try hard to live the way Jesus would want me to.

I am a wife.  My husband and I have been married for almost 20 years.

I am a mom.  I have four children, ages 12-17.  I love being a mom.  I have been a stay-at-home mom since the birth of my first child.  With my oldest getting ready to head off to university, I’m getting ready to move into a new stage of life.

I am a relatively new runner.  Well, I started running last year.  In January 2010 I decided that running was going to be the vehicle to get me in shape and help me lose weight.  I wish that I had thought of blogging that journey! So I started running using a program called Couch to 5k.  So I thought that signing up for a local 5k race was a good idea.  It didn’t take me long to realize that I needed a bigger goal.  I decided that a half marathon was an achievable endeavor.  My husband is an Ironman so he understands the need to set goals.  I brought up the idea to him and his jaw just about hit the floor.  I have never set such a huge exercising goal for myself.  My only condition was that the half marathon needed to be in Walt Disney World.  I accomplished that goal on January 8, 2011.

I am a volunteer librarian.  I have run the library in my kids’ Christian school for the last seven years.  I took a 2 year hiatus (but still did much of the administrative work).  I feel called to this work.

I am a healthy eater in the making.  I love junk food way to much.  I’m learning to enjoy good food more and more.  I am gluten intolerant so at least I have to stay away from bread which one of my weaknesses!

I am a TV addict!  That doesn’t work well with all my other activities.  I will have to learn to watch less.

That is me in a nutshell.
