This weekend two of my daughters participated in World Vision’s 30 hour Famine. On Saturday morning by 7 am they ate their last meal until today at 1 pm. It was a tough 30 hours for them.
Today I am thankful that we always have food to eat. We never miss a meal, there is always plenty to go around. My girls experienced hunger, but it was not the kind of hunger that millions of people experience. They knew that when the 30 hours were over there was a much food waiting as they wanted. There was even a barbecue planned to break their fast. Do not get me wrong, I am proud of my girls and the other kids. They raised over $1000 for World Vision. Every $30 will feed a child in a developing country for one month. That is a job well done!
It certainly makes me thankful for my fridge and pantry full of food and truly thankful to the God that provides for all of my needs.
