Today I get back to my running, not just running around. I love running but I find that when life gets hectic, the things I enjoy fall to the wayside. I also let mild seasonal depression get the better of me. I will have to find a way to deal with that next winter.
So today I went for a run. First I had to make sure I was well hydrated, another thing that falls to the wayside when I’m too busy. It was cooler and windier than I hoped it would be, but I was on a mission.
Since the spring has hit they are busy putting fresh gravel down on the shoulder of the road in front of my house. That made the first uphill just a little tougher, but I ran on. The middle of the run was non eventful, I just tried to keep up a good pace and make it to specific points before walking. I could really feel the cold, that I’m just getting over, in my chest.
The last 2km of my run have a great view!
It is a quiet road and two cars that came from behind me decided to drive in the middle of the road! The first one scared the crap out of me! I wish drivers would just stick to their side of the road (unless they are going around a runner or cyclist, of course!)
Needless to say, I finished my run strong. I was hoping to complete 5km in 35 minutes and I finished in 34:57! Job well done, if I must say so! I’m just looking forward to the day when my view is greener again.
